Physical Description
- Medium length, rounded head with short muzzle
- Short, flat, gleaming, black-to-roots coat
- Gold to copper colored eyes
- Exotic appearance of 'mini' or 'parlor-panther'
Temperament
- Playful, congenial, outgoing, smart, affectionate
- Can be leash trained
- Good with children and other pets

- Does best indoors
- Needs sufficient scratching device
- Declawing is not recommended
- Kittens available after 12-16 weeks
Brief History
- Breed name inspired by the black leopard of India
- Efforts to breed this cat began in 1953 with a black American Shorthair male and a Grand Champion Sable Burmese female
- The Bombay received CFA championship status in 1976
